FONTANA, CA – Today, Josie Gonzales officially announces her campaign for San Bernardino County Assessor. A former Fontana Councilmember and County Supervisor, Josie Gonzales brings a wealth of experience, relationships, and results to this newest challenge.
That experience and those relationships are evident in the unprecedented bi-partisan support Josie Gonzales is already receiving for her campaign for Assessor.

A longtime leader in San Bernardino County, Josie spent more than two decades as an advocate for early childhood education, reducing homelessness, and affordable housing of all kinds. Never forgetting where she came from, she always recognized the importance of a roof over one’s head. Having openly talked about entering the work force at 10 years old and sleeping on an army cot until she was 15, Josie’s background led her to work towards adding thousands of affordable housing units for seniors and working families, and, while she was in office, she worked to help reduce veteran homelessness by 50%.
With endorsements spanning every corner of the county, Josie’s campaign is off to a strong start. With almost a year until the campaign to fill the remaining 2-year Term for the Assessor-Recorder-Clerk is decided in a November 2024 Special Election, Josie is determined to show she will represent the people throughout San Bernardino County.
