Dear Friend,
With profound gratitude, I am thrilled to share the incredible news of our campaign’s historic victory for San Bernardino County Assessor/Recorder/Clerk. Your generosity, support, and unwavering belief in our vision made this moment possible. Together, we have achieved something remarkable—honoring the legacy of the late Senator and Assessor Bob Dutton by securing the remainder of his term and upholding his principles of fairness and dedicated service.

Looking forward, I am committed to delivering meaningful results for our community. My top priority is introducing one of the largest residential property tax reductions in our county’s history. By leveraging Propositions 8 and 13, we will reduce property valuations automatically—no applications required—resulting in billions of dollars in savings for hundreds of thousands of homeowners. Additionally, I will ensure that commercial, industrial, and multi-family properties are assessed fairly and accurately.
It is an incredible honor to serve as the first female and first Hispanic County Assessor in San Bernardino County’s history. While this term spans only two years, I am excited to announce my candidacy for the June 2026 primary, where I will seek a full four-year term. With your continued support, we can build on this momentum to create lasting change for our county.
I would also like to invite you to my swearing-in ceremony on January 6 at noon. Please visit [josieforassessor.com](https://josieforassessor.com) for updates and further information.
Thank you for believing in this campaign and for playing a vital role in this historic achievement. Together, we can create a brighter, more equitable future for San Bernardino County.
With deepest gratitude,
Josie Gonzales

She was unanimously elected as Chair of the Head Start Governance Board, overseeing programs that provide developmental services to children under five and their families. Additionally, she served on the California State Association of Counties’ (CSAC) Homeless Action Team, and Chaired San Bernardino County’s Interagency Council on Homelessness, which at one point resulted in a 50% reduction in veteran homelessness across the county.
Prior to her political career, Gonzales owned and operated a several successful small businesses in San Bernardino County. Josie still resides in Fontana, and enjoys spending time with her family, including her four adult children and six grandchildren.
