San Bernardino County Law Enforcement Backs Josie Gonzales for County Assessor-Recorder-Clerk

Josie Gonzales’ campaign for Assessor-Recorder-Clerk today announced endorsements from San Bernardino County Sheriff Shannon Dicus and the Sheriff’s Employees’ Benefit Association (SEBA).

In delivering their early endorsement for Josie Gonzales, SEBA added, “The Association has recognized your contributions to the community and your support of law enforcement.”

“Rising crime is a concern of every California resident. That’s why I’m honored and thrilled to be able to announce the early support from two pillars of our County’s law enforcement community,” commented Gonzales, who worked with both Dicus and SEBA throughout her 16 years as a County Supervisor.

Shannon Dicus was elected as San Bernardino County’s 36th Sheriff in June 2022, after working his way up the ranks of the Department since being hired in 1991, including serving as Undersheriff. SEBA represents almost 4,000 professionals, including deputies, DA investigators, probation corrections officers, coroner investigators, specialized fire officers, probation supervisors, welfare fraud investigators, detectives, sergeants, and lieutenants throughout San Bernardino County.

A longtime leader in San Bernardino County, Josie spent more than two decades as an advocate for public safety, early childhood education, and affordable housing of all kinds, in addition to working to reduce homelessness and simultaneously prioritizing the reduction of Veteran homelessness by 50%. Never forgetting where she came from, Josie has always recognized the importance of a roof over one’s head. Having openly spoken about entering the work force at 10 years old and sleeping on an army cot until she was 15, Josie’s background led her to work towards adding thousands of affordable housing units for seniors and working families.

Ending the year with almost a half million dollars Cash on Hand, and with endorsements spanning every corner of the county, Josie’s campaign is in strong shape at this stage to win the Special Election this November to fill the remaining 2-year Term for the Assessor-Recorder-Clerk.
